Title:                  Color Guard Instructor

 

Qualifications: Must have prior Color Guard experience. Experience on the collegiate/drum corps level is preferred. Applicant must have a teaching certificate (substitute is acceptable) and be eligible for employment by the Hazelwood School District.

 

Reports to:      Activities Director

 

Supervises:    Color Guard

 

Job Goal:      To develop the abilities of the students in the Color Guard

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Attendance at all Color Guard events, rehearsals, and other functions
• Rehearsal of all performance material
• Supervision of students involved
• Rehearsal of performance fundamentals
• Planning of functions
• Works closely with the Marching Band instructor on music and routines.
• Must be able to write a competitive routine to the music being performed
• Logistics
• Promotes the activity within the school by recruiting students that may have potential or who have had a previous background in Color Guard from the middle or elementary school.
• Maintains good public relations with parents.
• Performing all duties that the athletic administrator or principal deem necessary.
