POSITION TITLE: 2024 Summer School Clinic Support Coverage

 

REPORTS TO: School Principal/Health Services Coordinator

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  As a non-licensed employee, perform trained tasks within their scope of training to provide and promote supportive health care for students, staff, and volunteers.

 

POSITION DETAILS:  Summer Sessions will begin Monday, June 10, 2024-Friday, June 28, 2024 No school on June 19, 2024. Summer School Clinic Support Coverage will earn a daily rate of $30/hr. plus up to 20 hours of additional time for training, setting up the clinic and Open House.  

 

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

 

Essential Functions

 

  1. Follows established district procedures for injury or illness, providing care within training and/or makes referral to appropriate medical personnel.
  2. Administers prescribed medication, within the scope of training, to students per board policy and monitors for side effects.
  3. Maintains accurate documentation of medicines received from parents and dispensed to students, per applicable laws and established training with licensed medical professional.
  4. Reviews students’ immunization records for compliance with state law; refers for follow-up when needed.
  5. Perform non-nursing care for students with special needs, such as lifting and transferring, etc.
  6. Perform clerical duties associated with clinic functions.
  7. Conducts student basic health screening (hearing, vision) and documents results in students’ cumulative health record.
  8. Maintains documentation on students’ cumulative health records.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

 

  1. Standing, walking, sitting, feeling, grasping, talking, hearing.
  2. Normal attention with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as 20 feet or more, and ability to ID and distinguish colors, required.
  3. Light to moderate physical demand with regular lifting of very light to light (1 to 25 lbs.) items by hand and occasional lifting of average (25 to 60 lbs.) items by hand or with mechanical assistance.

 

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

 

         Typical inside conditions, but with regular exposure to chemicals and contagious diseases.

 

 POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education: Graduation from a general or technical high school with additional experience in first aid, CPR training, and completion of non-licensed training with school year home school nurse.

 

Experience:  Requires school year clinic aide employment.

  2. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the operations with like common and decimal fractions. Compute ratio, rate, and percent.
  3. Perform reading, writing, and speaking at an intermediate level.
  4. Must possess intellectual, technical, and human relations skills needed to work cooperatively with colleagues, parents and community groups in order to accomplish District goals.

Computer and related software, patient care equipment, copy and fax machines.
