The Support Staff Recruitment Fair will be hosted Tuesday, June 25,2024 from 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. In the Galactic Multipurpose room 15955 New Halls Ferry Rd. Florissant, MO 63031.

 

Pre-registration begins Thursday, March 21, 2024 and ends on Monday June 24 , 2024. Registration is complete once your application is successfully submitted!

 

 

Early Childhood Special Education: School Psychological Examiner

 

Reports to: Director of Early Childhood

 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

To facilitate the diagnostic process for students in the Early Childhood Education program by interviewing, observing, administering and interpreting standardized testing instruments to determine if students qualify for special education services. 

 

Salary

Full-time: $47,000.00-$89,914.00

Part-time: $33.75-$64.56

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Facilitate student achievement.

 

Examples of Work Performed:

  1. Participates as a team member in the multidisciplinary evaluation and re-evaluation process.
  2. Is knowledgeable of the diagnostic process and its regulations.
  3. Reviews referral information with parents, parent educators and teachers at the referral staffing.
  4. Collaborates with other Diagnostic Team members regarding evaluating and testing processes and procedures.
  5. Coordinates with First Steps Service Providers to facilitate the Part C to B transition process.
  6. Schedules evaluation appointments and mails/emails necessary paperwork within the appropriate timelines (safeguard, consent, notice of ineligibility, etc.).
  7. Administers appropriate formal instruments and play assessments to children and interprets results.
  8. Proficient in diagnostic interviewing techniques.
  9. Demonstrates an ability to incorporate assessment results into a written report that is useful to the educational process.
  10. Presents test results to parents at the eligibility determination meeting.
  11. Maintains a database of children referred for testing or children transferred to the district.
  12. Performs other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  13. Able to determine if school age, categorical diagnosis is appropriate.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: Education – Master’s Degree required. Certification in School Psychological Examiner by the state board of Education.

In addition to the above: Preferred: Early Childhood Special Education Teaching Experience 3-5 years.

 

Knowledge/Skills 

  • Proficient in preparing rigorous, interactive, exciting, and informative lesson plans
  • Proficient in Student Information Systems, Word, Excel, Power Point, Desktop Publisher, database management and Google Suite.
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues, parents, administrators, etc.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to facilitate an excellent educational experience for students in a high energy/stress environment.
  • Discretion and confidentiality with an awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education Policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
  • Must be self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required included close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust and focus, and depth perception. Specific hearing abilities required include normal conversation, phone conversation, and isolating voices in multiple conversations.   

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS:

Works in a classroom environment a majority of the time and is required to work outdoors for a small portion of the day.

 

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS/ MATERIALS USED:

Personal computer, copier, fax, 10 key calculator.

 

REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: None

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Assigned to 190 day work calendar; 36 hours and 40 minutes per week minimum; compensation and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) as provided by the Board of Education.
